5* "We stayed at Hydrangea House in the build up to our daughters wedding. The house is beautiful. It look small from the outside but it goes back to give you a fabulous kitchen which was ideal for us all sitting round the island. The lounge was a long but cosy area too. All bedrooms are served by en-suites and are designed/decorated to a high standard. The house is well equipped with everything you need. The garden is a lovely sunny area too although with a wedding didnt get much chance to use it. Location is perfect for beach and the high street and pleasant walks along the canal. parking absolutely no issue at all. This house served us so well and Jo was so helpful before and throughout our stay". Vicky Guile

5* "This is a lovely place to stay. The property is very well appointed with high quality fixtures and fittings and is situated near to local amenities and is a very short walk from the sea and walks along the Royal Military canal. We have booked many high end properties in the U.K. and Hydrangea House is easily one of the best and I thoroughly recommend it as a great relaxing place to stay. To cap it all Jo is a fantastic owner and is there on hand to quickly deal with your queries and questions that may arise and the arrangements from booking to going home are first class. Easily the best booking arrangements and guest information we’ve experienced. The whole experience easily warrants a 5 star rating and for my family it was a clear 10/10 from all 8 of us. 5* "This was the best holiday home I've stayed in. It was perfectly configured for our part of six adults, four smallish children, and two dogs. The bedrooms were like hotel bedrooms - I've already ordered some of the same brand of shower products. The beds (both human and canine) were amazingly comfortable. We really appreciated the care that had gone into anticipating everything we might need in the kitchen, and the toys and children's books were a lovely surprise. Having Waitrose within a very pleasant walking distance via the canal made a huge difference, taking the stress of planning meals in advance. Jo was prompt and helpful in responding to the couple of small queries we needed to make". Joanna Collicut

5/5 "We were let down in Hythe in a house on the Marine Parade.Hydrangea house wasn't our first choice but had we known!. You wouldn't realise from the outside how much space there actually is.Our children had all the toys books and games they wanted apart from being able to play in the sheltered garden.We had to get used to all the mod cons. The front door is back from the street so that the children didn't run straight into the road.The indoor door knobs are high and cant be touched by toddlers so that they cant get out onto the staircase.We had a stair gate cot and high chair fit up before we got there.Lots of toiletries and towels and welcome goodies.Most Important everything was spotless".

Great location (town, beach, canal all within a 5 min walk), great atmosphere of the house, you can bring your dog, it is clean and it really has everything you need in terms of equipment! 5* "From the moment I booked Jo was incredibly helpful at providing very useful and clear instructions to make our stay enjoyable. I stayed here with my family over Christmas and it was perfect for us. The house is beautiful (and spotless) and everything has been so carefully thought out and clearly designed with love. We had everything we needed and more in the kitchen, and the bedrooms even had tea and kettles. It’s a few minutes walk from a Waitrose and very walkable to the beach too. I really recommend Jo’s house if you’re after a cosy stay, we all miss it already!" JC

"This place was absolutely perfect for us. We were two families of four plus dog, (with four kids under the age of 6) so it can be tricky to find somewhere luxurious but also kid friendly, but this absolutely hit the spot. The communication from Jo was outstanding from the beginning, with extra care taken to make sure we had the best sleeping arrangements worked out in advance and so the bedrooms were all set up for kids and adults alike when we arrived. Lovely touches like age-appropriate books and toys left out, as well as treats for the adults (and the dog!) really made it special. And super helpful advice too, like recommendations for dog-friendly dining, location of the best coffee and where we could take her on the beach too. The kids had an absolute ball, with so many great things to do on the doorstep, including walks along the lovely shady canal path, paddling in the sea, and day trips to the sandy beach at Dymchurch (via the adorable mini train) as well as Folkestone. We also ate spectacularly, with the tasting menu at Hide & Fox and a long lunch at Rocksalt among the highlights. All in all, one of the best family holidays we’ve had, hoping to repeat it sometime soon!"

5/5 "9 of us (7 adults and 2 small children) stayed at Hydrangea House for a long weekend. Jo knew it was a family birthday weekend so there was a Happy Birthday banner at the window waiting for us. The house was spotlessly clean and Jo had thought of everything. It is fully equipped including drinks, cleaning stuff, tea towels etc. Because the weather was very hot she had thoughtfully provided sheets for covers as well as duvets. The house is narrow but what it lacks in width it makes up for in depth and height - there was plenty of room for us all. I thoroughly recommend Hydrangea house and would return there myself."

The location is perfect with the canal, beach and small town all within a 5 minute walk. But the best part of the experience was dealing with Jo. She is the loveliest lady and nothing is too much trouble. She made the whole process an absolute pleasure. We’ll be back ❤️"

"My family (two teens, a young adult, and my husband and I) spent our American thanksgiving holiday at this beautiful home. The kitchen met all of our needs for cooking the big meal and the hot tub was wonderful to relax in after. The beds are extremely comfortable, all the baths updated and not one "hotel guest" amenity is forgotten. We loved being able to walk to both the beach and the cute town of Hythe. We also visited Rye for an afternoon. The owner, Jo, is very responsive and truly made our holiday get away unforgettable! The fur babies were also pleased with the amenities and enjoy walks along the coast."

* 5  Jo is an amazing host. She is very helpful and her knowledge of the local area was also really helpful. The accommodation is amazing! The pictures do it no justice...the hot tub is an added bonus. The local is quiet and tucked away, great for a peaceful getaway. Hythe is a lovely place to stay. The beach is a few minutes walk away. The people are friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend it!

* 5 Very much enjoyed our stay here with friends and a dog. Exceptional laundry - the beds, towels etc. were so clean and fresh! The property itself was great for our group of friends to be together; in particular, the kitchen table and outdoor fire pit areas were big winners!

5/5 Just had a great weekend at Hydrangea House. Very thoughtfully knitted out with well-equipped kitchen, good size hot tub and very generous welcome pack and toiletries. Jo was very understanding throughout all our lockdown reschedules, nothing was too much trouble - she is a lovely lady. House well located for pretty canal-side walk and the sea. Thoroughly recommend.

Jo & Kevin’s house is beautiful and there is nothing that they haven’t thought of to make sure all their guests have the most amazing, home from home experience. The decor and spec through the whole house is impeccable. Contact throughout was amazing as we had to reschedule a few times due to covid. We will definitely return for another stay! *5 "Great for a family getaway. Nicely set-up as a home away from home. Wifi allowed for zoom calls. Clean and tidy with nice amenities (shower gels, robes, soft towels). Kitchen is well appointed for self-catering and the fireplace kept us cosy at night. The garden is a sun trap and the hot tub was very relaxing. A short walk to the waterfront and into town for the Waitrose supermarket and other shops. Didn’t really need a car. Dog walk along the canal, around the golf course and back via the beach promenade was a daily treat. A stop for ice-cream, coffee or bubbles meant every day was different!"

"Jo and Kevin are lovely hosts, nothing ever too much trouble. HH is stunning, quality linens, fixtures and fittings and of course the hot tub. I could go on, just too much. Everything is provided with tea and coffee making facilities in each room, super treats, fire pit and so much more. On a cold windy night the fire was a great treat. Kitchen is amazing, there is nothing you could want, it has been put together with a lot of care and thought. Great location to shops, beach and canal walks. You will not disappointed with this property it has everything. One of the best properties we have stayed in. Well done Jo & Kevin."

"We had a fantastic week at your lovely house! Very well thought out layout, kitchen is fabulous, hot tub is a definite winner. The online photos really don't do it justice as it is so much more spacious than we thought before we arrived. Our party of 10 (One 72yr old, four 35+ and 5 kids!) thoroughly enjoyed this house even when the weather wasn't all that great. Thank you very much!"
